Hallo!Ich bin beim Surfen auf eure Homepage gekommen, eine schöne und informative Seite habt ihr hier ins Netz gestellt, da kommt man gern wieder zu Besuch. Viele Grüße weiterhin viel Erfolg und gut Holz

Natürlich hat Trockau ein Sportheim. Das befindet sich beim Sportplatz Wenn man von Trockau in richtung Büchenbach fährt, am Berg links abbiegen und unter der Autobahnbrücke durchfahren.
Last time in Trockau was a week before some East Germans flew out over the border with a balloon. We wondered what all the fuss was at Hof and, as we travelled along the border in Franz. Schweiz on the Western side, just how many E German Grenzwaechtern had good binoculars (THAT they could afford lol).
Lovely country is the Franzoesische Schweiz and the best prices in Germany at that time.
Never got to Berlin again so I guess I’ll miss die Ruehe of E Berlin, cheating the border controls at Checkpoint Charlie by taking masses of Western newspapers and Zeitschriften across and amusing the Americans by coming out, driving round them and going back (it was 24hrs stay in those days and not the same day). I’ll miss the Hotel Berlin where I could heartily feed a family of 4 for Eastern Marks 20.oo (even if the knife and fork in alluminium were so light they nearly flew over your shoulder). Remember the days when people on Frankfurter Alle couldn’t tell you where Koepenick was? “Ik bin nit vo heir” was the reply. Geez, if they had only known we took the wrong road and were way into E Germany once before we found out.
Nostalgic dreams of E Berlin and Trockau as that was our halfway point to Berlin and Stoeckels Metzgerei and Fremdenzimmern just the job to feed a hungry family. Tip: Don’t use them Sat evening if you aren’t a good sleeper

Hello from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada! I came across your website while planning a trip to Germany for September 2007. I hope to visit Trockau and Buchenbach – the old world homeland of the Bogner Family – during my trip. In 1840 my Great-Great Grandfather Christopher Bogner (Margaretha Zielman), son of Johann Martin Bogner and Katerina Bopp, left Trockau and settled in Rich Fountain, Missouri, USA. Perhaps there are some long lost cousins still living in the area!

Hartmann and Meier are actually quite common names in Trockau. When did they emigrate?
My Mother’s relatives came from Trockau – Family names are Hartmann and Meier. Does anyone have any information?

Wieder 2 schoene Wochen Ferien gehabt in Trockau.
Die ubgebung ist und bleibt Schoen. Leider ist es imeer 800 Km fahren von Leeuwarden, Niedelanden
